OVERVIEW
PROBLEM / CONCEPT / SOLUTION
One of the most important things for a website is the homepage. The experience for the user starts there, so using the homepage as the foundation of the user's experience is critical. Now, of course, you have the navigation bar and the information structure, but if you're not able to get the home page right you run into all sorts of issues as you progress with your project.
The main issue I found with this project was that the AAA Cooper website mainly the homepage had a massive amount of redundancy within the navigation, information structure, and content writing. This resulted in a website that was aesthetically impaired and impotent regarding its overall UX.
The solution that we choose for this site started with focusing on the homepage aesthetics and messaging. We determined that the user's journey needed to start by understanding what AAA Cooper's mission is and how it could affect their business in a positive way. We cover more of the existing issues and solutions in the Competitive and Visual Analysis.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS TO GAIN UNDERSTANDING
When starting a project from scratch it can be a challenging task to ideate content and visual concepts. This is where UX methodology starts. Choosing the best UX practice for this project was in my humble opinion pretty obvious considering we were really revisiting an already existing site but looking at it and approaching the project as if it was from the very beginning. I choose to use the concept of design thinking which allows me to more flexible in how I approach my problem-solving strategy. I implemented some very basic but highly effective UX tools from the UX toolbox to get the ball rolling. We started by doing a Competitive Analysis that focused on the most successful transportation companies in the world. By doing this it gives you insight on the UX similarities. From there we can do some brief user testing on the competitor's sites to see what works and what does not work, once again giving us valuable feedback on what to explore regarding design ideas.

DESIGN THINKING 101
HOW TO TEST VISUAL DESIGN

These videos describe the design thinking behind this project.
For our persona research, we choose the industries that used trucking the most frequently, then we chose to find a particular brand that fit within the industry category. This allows us to create a basis on which to synthesize the needs of the industry and the brand. As we researched these industries we found that each industry had very similar needs as well as well as issues. We used this as an opportunity to gain more insight into cross-referencing our findings for the next round of ideation. When interviewing individuals we observed a constant concern of not being able to have real-time info on the shipment all in a central location and also having access to it in a mobile format. These were individuals that were customers of AAA Cooper so this was an issue isolated to there web platform. We noticed that when speaking with them almost all stated the need for this solution.

PERSONA RESEARCH
There are several methods of shipment that a company can use to distribute its products, including ground, air, and sea. Many choose fleet trucks because they are more readily available than planes or ships and are often an affordable option. Some of the most common products shipped via fleet trucks are:
CLOTHING
PRODUCE
PAPER PRODUCTS
BUILDING MATERIALS
VEHICLES
HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES
MOST POPULAR PRODUCTS
CARRIED BY FLEET TRUCKS
clothing
Clothing is very easy to ship via fleet trucks because it is not a food (so it doesn’t perish) and is not fragile (so there is no worry of it breaking during transport). It can be shipped using a truck of any size or shape.
Produce usually refers to fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown on a farm. Produce is commonly shipped by farmers via fleet trucks because they can ship a large amount of produce at one time.
produce
Paper products refers to actual paper (like printing paper or paper labels), but also refers to items like cardboard boxes, wood pellets, napkins, pulp board, wood chips, and more. These products can be loaded onto trucks and easily transported to places like home improvement stores and office supply stores.
paper products
Because building materials like steel beams, concrete slabs, pipes, logs, etc. are large and very heavy, it’s common for companies to use oversized flatbed fleet trucks or tractor-trailer fleet trucks to ship them around the country.
building materials
vehicles
Every year, vehicle manufacturers spend billions of dollars to transport their vehicles to dealerships and individuals. When shipped by ground, vehicles like SUVs, cars, and trucks are carefully shipped on car carrier fleet trucks that hold about 8-10 vehicles.
hazardus sustances
When shipping hazardous substances, such as explosives or chemicals, companies usually turn to ground shipment to keep the materials safe during transit. They must follow regulations carefully; if they don’t, they may pay large fines or criminal charges.
